Meet the Staff
Beth Fisher, LCSW, LCAS, MAC, CCS
Founder and Executive Director
Beth has worked in the field of addictions and human services for over twenty years. She has a life long passion for assisting people in their journeys toward healing. Beth is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with certifications in addictions counseling and supervision. She also has extensive training and experience in working with people with emotional and eating disorders. Beth realized a long standing dream when she and Wick Hatch established Hope Homes Inc. in 1996, and is amazed at the way the program has grown and evolved. Beth oversees program administration, admissions and supervision of staff, serves as referral liaison for many of the treatment centers Hope Homes collaborates with, works with the Board of Directors and continues to develop innovative programming to serve the continually growing Hope Homes Inc. community.
Dick Cottrill, BS, CADC
Chief Operations Officer, Counselor
Dick, in addition to being a full time counselor in our men's communities, he also oversees logistical operations of the large community of residences, works with the Board of Directors, assists in the supervision of staff, and continues to develop the Hope Homes Inc. programming and community. A native of England, he has been in the US since 1973. A Zoology graduate, Dick had a career in the facility services industry spanning 40 years in an operational management position. For 17 of those years he was CEO of North American businesses. We are proud to have Dick on the Hope Homes team as he pursues his passion for recovery in a new career path.
Jack Carlton, BS
Office Manager
Jack coordinates the administrative operations at Hope Homes Inc. He has extensive experience in financial management from a previous career, and is well versed in all aspects of office management. Jack fields initial inquiry calls from prospective residents and referral sources, and manages all facets of our bookkeeping. Jack came to Hope Homes Inc. to be a part of the important and meaningful work we do, and the community and staff are very fortunate to have him on the team.
Samantha Allen, CIT
Counselor
'Sam' is an on-site Counselor in our Smyrna community, providing leadership for our groups, individuals, and on call-services. She is a source of hope and strength to our women's community through her living example of the miracle of recovery. She is presently pursuing her credential in addictions counseling. Additionally, she is a proud mother and grandmother who has been a vital part of our Hope Homes Mother's Support group for several years.
Lance Blocker, CIT
Monitor
Lance presently serves as a monitor for our Smyrna/Vinings Men's community. He is a solid, consistent presence and positive role model for our young adult population. Lance is an enthusiastic learner, currently enrolled at Kennesaw State University, pursuing a degree in psychology. At the same time, he is working toward completion of requirements for certification in addiction counseling. Lance is a passionate recovery advocate, helping our residents realize the unlimited possibilities of recovery through his lived example. Lance is a tremendous asset and contributor to our Hope Homes team.
Richard Ensley, CIT
Counselor
Richard is an on-site counselor for our Smyrna/Vinings men's community. He begins a new career in his retirement, and though a soft spoken man, is deep in his commitment to recovery and assisting others in their journeys. He has spent many tireless hours volunteering at Ridgeview Institute, and has a special fondness for working with senior populations. Richard has many years experience in various management capacities throughout his career. He is a steady, consistent team member.
Andrew London, BS, CIT
Counselor
Andrew is an onsite counselor for our Charlotte men's program. He is an enthusiastic, engaging leader, facilitating a positive community for those he serves. Andrew is a recent graduate of the College of Charleston, with a degree in sociology. Additionally, he is pursuing his certification in addictions certification. Andrew is a skillful communicator, and has been effective in establishing solid rapport with our clients, their families, and our referral sources.
Andy Martin, CAC
Counselor
Andy has been working in the field of addictions recovery for many years, with a long tenure at Talbott Recovery Campus prior to his joining the Hope Homes Inc. team. Andy is passionate about recovery, and is a dedicated, compassionate caregiver for our men's communities. He is a Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) who works in our Atlanta Men's Community, leading groups, providing 1:1 and on-call services. Andy is also a very talented professional musician, and regularly shares this love with our clients. Staff and residents alike value his presence in our community.
Julie Millsaps, M.Ed, BA
Alumni Coordinator, Marketing Assistant
Julie provides marketing support, on-call service for residents, as well as facilitates our Fun Nights and Big Book Studies.Julie is wide-ranging in her talents; she holds a Masters degree in education and holds an undergraduate degree in exercise physiology.She is presently considering seeking certification toward recreational therapy. Julie's straight forward approach invites respect in our community from both staff and residents.
Kelly Moselle, MA, MS
Collegiate Program Director
Kelly brings to Hope Homes experience rich in facilitating innovative programs. Working in higher education for over 16 years, he focused upon learning outside the traditional classroom; giving back to the community, building civic and social responsibility, and developing the whole student. Kelly brings this same passion to working with students in early recovery. For the past several years, Kelly has worked in the residential recovery field, helping college students discover their path in sobriety. Whether supervising professional staff, building recovery coalitions, or working directly with individual students, his dedication is to creating the optimal recovery experience for college students in early recovery.
Dee Owens, MS, CIT
Counselor
Dee is an onsite Counselor in our Atlanta Women's community. Dee began her tenure at Hope Homes as a counseling intern from Georgia State University, and we are pleased to have hired her upon graduation. Dee is known for her steady, even approach with clients, and has a deeply calming presence with all she encounters. She is enthusiastic about equipping our clients with practical life skills, and is deeply committed to helping our women achieve their life goals.
Marc Pimsler, CAC I, ACRPS
Counselor
Marc works in a variety of counseling capacities on our team, but is primarily based with our Atlanta men. A gifted counselor, he was recognized as the 2010 GACA (Georgia Addiction Counselors Association) New Counselor of the year. He is certified as an addictions counselor in Georgia, and is also an Advanced Certified Relapse Prevention Specialist. Marc is a talented presenter, and his life skill and recovery management groups are very well received in our communities. In addition to his Hope Homes duties, Marc provides CAC training and instruction with ACTS Consulting. Marc is currently pursuing degrees through Argosy University. He has previous recovery residence experience, and expertise in working with Young Adult and GLBT populations. We are fortunate to have Marc bring his broad skill set to the Hope Homes community.
Trevor Purifoy, CIT
Counselor
Trevor brings maturity, wisdom, and experience to his position as a Counselor working with primarily Young Adult clients in our Smyrna men's community. He is a bright, enthusiastic light to all he encounters. Trevor comes to Hope Homes after spending some time in various service industries. He is presently pursuing certification training in the field of addictions counseling. Trevor is able to bring his passion for the miracle of recovery into his work, helping young men on their path to health and a better life.
Chelsea Scott, BSW (pending)
Counselor
Chelsea is part of the on-site team for our Charlotte Women's location. Chelsea is finishing work toward her undergraduate degree in May 2012, and will start immediately on her MSW degree. She has tremendous drive, striving to be the best professional possible to serve those recovering from addictive disease. She has excellent experience working in the recovery field, to include a current internship at CMC Mercy Horizons Outpatient center. Chelsea emanates compassion, and is a positive role model and guide for our Charlotte women.
Jami Schultz
Office Assistant
Jami has been a part of our Hope Homes family in various capacities for some time. She is an amazing recovery ambassador, freely sharing her infectious enthusiasm for recovery and Hope Homes with all she interacts with. Jami assists with all office duties, and is the friendly voice you will hear greeting you on the phone, or welcoming you at the Hope Homes office. She has a wide array of professional experience, but believes she has found her true calling in recovery services. We are excited to have Jami on our team!
Meghan Shanik, CIT
Counselor
Meghan is an On-site counselor for our Atlanta's Women community. She has a true passion for helping others and working with young adults in their recovery journeys for addictive disease and eating disorder particularly. Before starting with Hope Homes, Meghan was working in the Business/Management field for another non-profit organization. She is currently going after her dream of working in the field of addiction while simultaneously pursuing her certification in addictions counseling. Meghan has a passion for altruistic service work with a strong sense of mission towards helping others. She is very empathetic to what others are feeling. Meghan holds a very special place in her heart for guiding people who are beginning their journey in recovery.
Michael Shannon, BA
Counselor
Mike is an on-site counselor in the Hope Homes Collegiate recovery program. Originally from Chicago, Illinois he has been in the addiction field for four years. He brings an abundance of compassion and dedication to those who are seeking to recover from the disease of addiction. Mike recently attained his Georgia CARES certification, and he has completed certification in Relapse Prevention Therapy. He is currently working toward certification as an addiction counselor, and has plans to pursue his LCSW in the fall of 2013. Mike says "I am very excited and grateful to be given the opportunity to work and for Hope Homes and to be involved in building the new Hope Homes Collegiate program".
Shey Wilkey, CAC
Counselor
Shey is a full time counselor in our women's communities. She brings much passion to her work with our women, and is a valuable part of our team. Shey has been working in the addictions field since 2005, with previous professional experiences at facilities in North Georgia. She is pursuing certification in addictions counseling. Shey is unmatched in her enthusiasm. She is an eager teacher, learner and advocate for our clients.
Chris White, MBA
Counselor
Chris serves as on-site counselor for our Charlotte, NC Men's program. He has worked in the recovery field for several years, most recently at Jaywalker Lodge in CO. Chris has a previous career in corporate finance, and uses his astute analytical skills for great benefit to our Charlotte team. Chris has a great love for the outdoors, and looks forward to bringing adventure activities to our men's community. He is a great asset to our team, providing grounding balance to all he works with.
Donna Williams, NCAC I
Counselor
Donna is a National Certified Addiction Counselor (NCAC) who has been working in the addiction and recovery field for many years and is truly passionate about helping others with their afflictions. Donna came to us from Ridgeview Institute and spent several years working with Older Adults, Baby Boomers and Women's issues while there. She is an onsite Counselor at our new Charlotte Women's program. Donna is passionate about helping families deal with addiction issues, and will be facilitating a family group open to clients and their support systems that addresses all areas of addiction and how to cope with these issues.
